Good morning!
When someone sets out to construct a high-quality home, they do not purposely build it on a foundation of cheap, low-grade concrete with impurities. Why? Because a poor foundation cannot provide the support needed for the house to stand the tests of time against the storms that will come to test it.
These verses warn us that our spiritual lives are similar to a building process and how unwise it is to build our foundation on anything other than Christ (Isaiah 28:16).
An inferior spiritual foundation leaves us open to future foundation failure. Similar to natural homes that suffer foundation failure, the issue can be fixed. However, whether you are repairing a natural or spiritual foundation, either one of these repairs usually comes with a high price!
We need to be aware of how these inferior spiritual foundations develop. The issues begin when carnal desires, philosophies, false religious doctrines, etc., go unchecked.
And while the spiritual foundation may not look much like a problem in the beginning, but as time goes by, poor quality becomes apparent as it starts to chip, crack, rot, and crumble.
Let us strive to stay with God’s Bible blueprint and build our lives upon His solid plan. This will help us lead a solid, stable and fruitful life (John 15:1-11).
Have a fruitful and firm day in the stability of His Word!
