Good morning!
In the mid-1800s a performer by the name of Chevalier Blondin became famous for crossing the Niagra Falls Gorge 17 times on a tightrope.
More impressively, he crossed it blindfolded, pushing a wheelbarrow with his young daughter in it and carrying a stove, stopping halfway across to cook an omelet on the stove. He also crossed it on stilts and with his manager on his back.
The Prince of Wales was familiar with Blondin’s feats, having watched him complete walks. Although the prince trusted in Blondin’s skills, when Blondin asked him if he believed him enough to make the return walk while Blondin carried him on his back, the prince not surprisingly refused.
Although we know God is always to deliver us, we still often respond to Him with a refusal when He offers to help carry us over life’s many obstacles. While we can declare our confidence in His abilities all day long, when it comes time to take action, we must still apply faith to the truth of God’s Word.
Remember, the more we read and meditate on God’s long-established history of successful rescues, the more likely we are to trust Him as David did in critical times of need.
Have a trust filled in His power!
Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
