Good morning!
In earlier verses, Jesus taught, preached, and did miracles in the sight of many and the Apostles. This meant the Apostles saw the miraculous happen quite a bit.
They were also familiar with dangerous storms out on the sea of Galilee. Now in one, they feared for their lives as this storm was unlike any they had seen. It threatened to sink their boat and them too.
Feeling the end was near, they awakened Jesus from his sleep. Looking at them, he asked them, “Why are you afraid? He then spoke to the storm, bringing instant calm to the sea.
The Apostles were shocked by this display of power and authority. Despite all the miracles they had seen Jesus do before. It caused them to ask each other…who is this guy?
The Bible tells us the same Christ who calmed the Apostle’s storm can calm the storms in our lives. Fierce storms can come to try and capsize our hopes and dreams and attempt to sink God’s plan for us.
Let us strive to renew our minds and know Christ is always in our boat. Refusing to let fear and unbelief push us to abandon the plan for us to go onward to the other side!
Luke 8:22 – Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.
