Good morning!
Here in Ephesians, the Apostle Paul sums up how we are no match for the devil when relying on our human strength. He knows our hope and advantage lie in making ourselves dependent on the strength of God. After all, God is the one (Obviously not us) who possesses countless and endless resources of power and might.
As Christians, we must learn to use the weapons He has given us to successfully fight on behalf of His Kingdom (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Of course, being part of His army also means accepting and expecting we may have to endure difficult times (1 Peter 4:12).
Charles Spurgeon was fond of saying “Satan doesn’t kick dead horses.”
Therefore, while we should expect God to reward us for our diligence to Him, we should also expect Satan to persecute us for the diligence we show toward God.
Lastly, this verse also serves as a reminder not to be intimidated by Satan’s spiritual assaults. We must avoid becoming so fearful of Satan that we scale back or even stop the work we do for God’s Kingdom.
If you feel Satan is targeting you due to your loyalty toward God, just consider it a good sign. There is nothing wrong with being in a fight for the sake of righteousness!
May your day be a great and powerful one in the Lord!
