Good morning!
When the pain and chaos of sin strike, people often wrongly assume God is the cause.
Poor moral decisions can always be traced back to…us. At some point, we were tempted and eventually gave in to corrupted thoughts that preceded the temptation.
The most famous blame game incident is in (Gen.3:12) where God asks Adam who said he could eat the fruit? Adam responded ‘“It was that woman You gave me; she gave me the fruit and I ate.”
Adam passed the blame to Eve. Eve blamed Satan. Satan did not worry about blaming anyone knowing he was guilty and that his plan was working.
God in His holiness passed judgment on all three (Gen 3:14-24).
Fast forward to today, and people still blame God or others for their shortcomings. Only the names and people have changed.
Sadly, passing the blame did not work for Adam and Eve, and won’t work for us either.
When we operate with a shallow knowledge of the Bible, we become easy prey for Satan to lead us blindly down darkly lit paths. Meanwhile, God has provided us with a guide to keep us on the well-lit and safe path of righteousness.
Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
Let us strive to put into application God’s word in our life. His power can strengthen and enlighten us and help us forsake that which is evil and hold on to that which is good.
Ephesians 5:8 – For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light!
May the Lord help us live by faith, so we don’t pass the blame, but instead pass the test!
