CHOOSING FAITH OVER FEAR!

Mar 2, 2023

Psalms 55:3 - because of the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they drop trouble upon me, and in anger, they bear a grudge against me.

In this verse, we find David overcome with fear and crushed by the weight of what seemed like a hopeless situation due to the many slanderous and violent lies spoken against him by his family and others. These were lies he could find no recourse against, and the lies threatened to drive him from his throne.

The fear David experienced from these lies was so overwhelming that he became convinced that the voices of his enemies could do way more against him than God could do for him.

This is a strong example where we see how fear can pressure someone into forsaking the promises of God. Abandoning our faith in God’s promises (And our spiritual authority) based upon what our (Carnal flesh) senses are telling us.

Fortunately for us as believers, the better we get at knowing our Father’s voice, the quicker we learn to recognize the voice (And fear tactics) used by our enemy.

The tough situation David faced was a prime why we should rely on God and not on:

What we see
What we hear
What we smell

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Praying that our spiritual ears tune into God and tune out fear!
