Good morning!
The price paid for our redemption was Jesus Christ and his death on Calvary. So how high of a price do we need to be ready to pay to sacrifice and submit to successfully serve Christ? Probably much more than most people think!
At some point, the Christian walk got watered down to a duty of attending church on Sundays or Wednesdays and being nice to people. Consequently, the church body, as a whole in the U.S., has weakened and lost much of the respect it formerly had in the world!
Even when Paul lived, apostasy was seen creeping into the church. Bringing with it a compromise of Biblical principles. This adversely impacts the Christian’s and for sure Non-Christian’s who closely watch the behavior of those who profess Christ is their Savior.
1 Peter 2:12-22 Your conduct among the heathen should be so good that when they accuse you of being evildoers, they will have to recognize your good deeds and so praise God on the Day of his coming.
Compromise will make us stumble down this wide path to destruction (Matthew 7:13) if we refuse to address our relationship with sin.
We must be willing to die to every habit and practice that is wrong in the sight of God. We must break from it, fight with it, crucify it, and labor to keep it under the power of His might.
While we may struggle at various times with sin, we must never give way to them.
Isaiah 1:16-17 – Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. 17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Sure, the cost is high, and we must know that our decision will lead to us at times being mocked, ridiculed, slandered, persecuted, and even hated.
But, in the end, it will be more than worth it!
Romans 8:18 – We have sufferings now, but these are nothing compared to the great glory that will be given to us.
