Good morning!
John 12:25 makes an eternally significant statement regarding whether to love this world or to hate it. It puts into perspective the battle faced by Christians on a day-by-day basis. That battle is the ongoing conflict between our flesh and our spirit!
Galatians 5:17 – For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
The Bible warns us that the temptations of this world (From minor to major) can hinder our eternal salvation if we give them half a chance.
A key to reducing these hindrances is for us to decide and then work on disciplining ourselves to hate temptation and cling to the righteousness of God.
Matthew 10:39 – He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
Remember, when God places a choice before us, He does so to let us know we have the decision to make. One way or the other.
Let us strive to choose and develop an eternal perspective that helps us let go of the temporary things of this world that try to make us lose our way.
