Drawing Power From Potential?

Dec 23, 2022

Ephesians 3:20 (ESV) Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.

Good morning!

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines potential as; existing in possibility: capable of development into actuality potential benefits.

Despite the many difficult situations we may find ourselves in, the potential God has placed within us is always there to assist us.

When the Holy Spirit’s power can work within us, we move from having potential to having God’s power released on our behalf and on behalf of His Kingdom. We are then better equipped to face life’s trials and tribulations.

A great example of unseen potential is Daniel 11:32. There Judas Maccabeus and a small band of men (With God’s power as their source) attack and defeat the far superior forces of Antiochus Epiphanies. God empowered them to do that repeatedly!

Remember, while God has placed potential within us all, turning Godly potential into Godly power requires stepping out by faith and walking (Believe God at His word) in what God says we are capable of doing!

Hebrew 10:38 – but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”

Like Judas Maccabeus, we will also face challenges that look impossibly big. But, if we can stay mindful of what God has placed within us, we will face any challenge in life. And not just once, but over and over again through God’s empowerment!

Daniel 11:32 – He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.

Let us strive to be sensitive and obedient to the Holy Spirit on this day so we can fulfill our potential with His power!

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
