Good morning!
Psalm 90:2 describes our Eternal God in a way where we can attempt to understand the meaning of eternal and everlasting. Eternity is a concept that can be a bit hard for a human brain to comprehend. As humans, we are used to the understanding that beginnings are generally followed by endings. Not the unlimited view of someone having always existed.
The elaborations below are from the Study light Bible where they attempt to explain eternity so that we can better grasp the term.
“Eternity is a duration without bounds or limits with two limits of duration beginning and end. That which hath always been is without beginning, and that which always shall be is without ending.
“Eternity is only proper to God, and not communicable (1 Timothy 6:16). All other things receive their being from Him and can be deprived of their being by Him. All things depend on Him. Whatsoever is not God is temporary; whatsoever is eternal, is God.”
Fortunately for us, even if we don’t fully understand eternity as it relates to God, we can still strive to rest in the confidence of His goodness and power. Both are eternal and enable us to share His eternal existence.”
1 John 2:17 – The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
May your day be triumphant with confidence in God’s eternal love toward us!
