Good morning!
Like many people, my wife and I have experienced the pleasure, pressure, pain, and prayers that can accompany raising two young boys into adults. Some of you may still be in the midst of that process.
Many of us are aware of situations when a parent or guardian did everything right raising their child, only to see that child later make life decisions that ended up wrecking their future. Leaving the parent to ask themselves, “Where did I go wrong with my child?”
The concept found in Proverbs 22:6 to although we can dedicate a child to God and raise them with the most Godly intentions, it is still possible that one day they will grow up and out from under our care and teachings and start living based on their belief system. Living in a way that doesn’t remotely represent how they were raised
.
Of course, we shouldn’t fail to remember how in our younger days, some of us temporarily traveled down paths that didn’t represent how we had been raised.
While our parental authority and influence will likely decrease over time, we shouldn’t let our prayers for our children do likewise. Even if their lives fail to resemble how we pictured it would be.
Let us strive to always faithfully pray for our children and trust God for their well-being.
2 Timothy 3:15 – and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
May the Lord manifest Himself daily in the lives of our children!
