Good morning!
Some people grow up in life exposed to only a low standard of identity. It gets molded and stuck on them by others (Romans 12:2). In time, this sub-standard identity label sticks so well the person learns to accept it and live with it. Sadly, the identity given to them by others is all they know.
2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us God wants us to ditch our old identity and take on the new Divine Identity label He has given us.
However, to ditch our old label (Way of thinking/living) and live as a new creation in Christ, we must renew our minds. That is how we learn to start thinking and seeing ourselves as God does.
Ephesians 4:17 – So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
To rise above any sub-standard label we have become accustomed to, we must learn how God feels about us and sees us.
Isaiah 43:1 – But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
Remember, God prefers that we live up to the premium standard He sees us as His children. Not down to a lower level of how others may think and see us!
Psalm 139:14 – I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Let us learn to trust in His truth on this day. Letting the opinion of how God sees us carry far more weight than the opinion of others, including ourselves!
