OVERCOMING LIFES SOUR SITUATIONS!

Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."

Good morning!

When it comes to recommendations for how to get the juice out of a lemon, you will find many suggestions. Some say to use a fork. Others say to microwave them and then roll them on a table. Other recommendations say to cut it lengthwise or use a spoon, metal hand squeezers, juicers, or citrus reamers.

The only sure thing is once a lemon has been targeted to be juiced, it’s in for a rough ride.

In Luke 22:31-32 we read how Satan focuses his attack on the Apostle Peter. Peter quickly goes from telling everyone of his great loyalty to Jesus in verse 33 to denying any relationship with him on three occasions shortly afterward. He went as far as denying he knew Jesus.

Satan aimed to shake Peter’s faith, hoping he’d permanently fall away from Jesus like chaff. God knew Satan’s attack would hit Peter hard, but He also knew the attack would help deliver Peter from pride and self-reliance. It did!

Peter’s faith was temporarily shattered (He went out and wept bitterly – Luke 22:62) but, divine prayer by Jesus kept Peter from destruction.

Peter later recovered, moving on to do great works for the Kingdom of God despite being squeezed by Satan in a way that left him as empty as a juiced lemon.

Praise God that His divine intercession still occurs today for those of us who are His (See Romans 8:34).

Let us strive to refuse to let our failures stop us from running our Christian race. Remembering to repent, refresh and rise in the power of God through our pressed and sour moments. Moving forward as Peter did so we can complete the work God has begun in us (Philippians 1:6).

Don’t forget, when life throws you lemons, make Holy Ghost lemonade!

Have a terrific day in His grace, mercy, and might!
