Staying Encouraged in the Face of the Unexpected!

2 Corinthians 4:8 - (NABRE) We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

Good morning!

Here the Apostle Paul touches on something we are all reasonably familiar with. What I often refer to as the terrible T’s. That being…

Trials
Tribulation
and
Trouble!

While none of us can know the future, one thing we do know is that the unforeseen difficulties of life will come, and we will have to deal with them.

While it may often appear other people have way fewer life issues to deal with than we do, we really cannot know what challenges are going on in their world.

In John 16:33, Jesus tells us what to expect when we live in a challenging world. He went on to emphasize “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Note to self: If Jesus has to encourage us to Take heart, it is likely because we have become discouraged and lost heart (Confidence, assurance, hope). Jesus knows if we focus on truth, we will come through the challenge(s) of life victoriously!

Remember, there will always be countless issues in life to drain our physical/spiritual fuel tanks. Life issues can leave us tired, weary, discouraged, and ready to give up. This is why we must stay close to the person (Jesus) from whom our strength flows to overcome and or endure every unexpected life scenario.

Let us strive to keep our eyes on Christ and what He can do for us!

Galatians 1:4 – who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Have a blessed day in the Lord and in the power of His might!
