Testing?

Dec 2, 2022

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (AMP) 21 But test all things carefully [so you can recognize what is good]. Hold firmly to that which is good.

Good morning!

Many people have things tested regularly with such items ranging from cars to their bodies. Testing is done to make sure everything is functioning normally and or safely. Testing also helps catch problems while they are still small and have not yet become a big problems.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 gives us a spiritual testing regime that is helpful to any Believer who has included getting closer to God in their New Year resolutions. We are told to test everything in our environment to see if it has the potential to steer us away from God.

It is well known that repetitive exposure to something produces degrees of physiological and/or psychological change in the brain. Many Bible Scholars/Priests/Pastors, etc., believe the content spread over Social Media has influenced the decline in worldwide ethics. It is not very hard to see how the fabric of society has slowly and gradually come apart at the seams.

Note: Not all social media is bad! My point is that the purpose of secular media programs is…well…”Programming.” This means repetitive exposure designed to make people more comfortable with modern worldviews and opinions (Facts) that makes a person more uncomfortable with Biblical Scripture (The truth).

Consequently, whichever one a person gets exposed to most often is the one they will likely more closely align their viewpoints with.

Let us strive to carefully view and review everything we let into our lives daily. Sifting it through the lenses of God’s word. This helps us get closer to God by assisting us to diagnose small issues before they grow into big ones!

Proverbs 4:23 – Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

May all your testing this day be overcome triumphantly by the wisdom found in the Word of God!
