Good morning!
Our society is governed by rules of law that dictate what we should and shouldn’t do. While breaking some laws only leads to fines, breaking certain other laws may lead to imprisonment or even death!
Romans 8:2 tells Believers we should allow the Holy Spirit to exercise control over our lives supernaturally. When a Believer has surrendered their life and chooses to operate under God’s Laws/principles, they have access to His delivering power.
It is the same power we can access to help us overcome (The lingering consequences of sin) the spiritually imprisoning behaviors that brought pain to our lives.
Romans 7:23 – but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.
Chuck Swindoll says that “due to a lack of knowledge of God’s laws, “Believers in Jesus Christ are still live enslaved to the domination of a power that no longer has control over them.”
Sadly, too many Believers are spiritually blinded to the truth that Jesus Christ has set them free from the law of sin and the fear of death.
Romans 6:6 – Knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him,…so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
There is no denying that living in a flesh and blood body means we will on occasion stumble and fall. That same weakness also keeps us in a position to need to ask God (And others) for forgiveness while never giving up on seeking freedom from the domination of sin!
Philippians 1:6 – I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Let us strive to operate in the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus daily!
