THE LOOK OF LOVE?

Jan 20, 2025

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV) 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always perseveres.

Good morning!

Being able to love God and others requires we continually grow in the revelation of God’s character. Doing so allows us to truly understand the reason scripture so strongly urges us to conform to the image of Christ.

As God’s representatives (Disciples) we must display the love of God to those who are unfamiliar with how His love looks. While television commercials, magazine ads, planes pulling banners, and flyers left on windshields and mailboxes have worked, the gospel of Christ is meant to be its most impactful when flowing through God’s people. His primary tool is Spirit-filled flesh and blood vessels (That’s you and me) who go out and work on accomplishing the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20).

Yes, it can be challenging to love unlovable people, but Jesus has already patterned the way for us. He left us His Word, the Holy Spirit, and His authority to win people to His kingdom.

Let us strive to look like the love of Christ to everyone we encounter. Walking in compassion, being slow to anger, and definitely being willing to forgive.

Have a lovely day in His tender mercies!
