Good morning!

When contractors build homes or commercial structures, one key component for successful construction is using concrete. Concrete is strong and durable and must be in order to successfully fulfill its purpose.

However, the ingredients of concrete must be based on set proportioning and the mixing of its components. When mixed correctly, concrete can reach its full potential and enable a structure to fully support the stressors resting upon it for many years.

Matthew 7:24 tells us it takes more than just hearing God’s Word to build a solid and successful spiritual foundation that supports us during the challenging times in our lives.

Similarly to how it takes a proper mixture of physical ingredients to make quality concrete, to achieve a solid spiritual foundation also requires building with the right ingredients. We miust both Hear and Do to build a firm spiritual foundation.

James 1:22 – But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.

Let us strive to actively take the scriptures we hear and mix them with obedience and actions of faith. Building a firm foundation that will last throughout our lives.

Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
