Good morning!
Many of us have had experiences where people have amazed us. Unfortunately, they amazed us in a way that was not good!
Mark 4:6 is one of a couple of times in the Bible (See also Matthew 13:58) where Jesus (Marveled) was amazed (Not in a good way) as to how people responded to him.
In Mark 4:6, Jesus was amazed (He Marveled) at their faithless attitude toward him. He was surprised at their lack of faith and how they failed to believe him despite the many miraculous things they had witnessed first-hand. This was despite miracles they heard he had performed in the lives of others. Some who more than likely they either knew or knew of!
Verse 6 then tells how Jesus left town without being able to accomplish much, let alone anything miraculous in their area. Consequently, lives in that town went unchanged (Change for the better) due to the level of unbelief from the people.
Matthew 13:58 – Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
This should warn and remind us that unbelief can hinder God from moving in our lives. Sure, we may believe Him from a salvation perspective, but we may also not think he can do much else in our lives besides that. This mindset is due to unbelief which is a mindset that cannot and should not remain unaddressed!
Let us strive to walk by faith and not by sight (Or fright) as we run our Christian race. Let us refuse to let fear override our faith!
Praying for you to have a faith-filled day trusting in the power of the Lord!
