Good morning!
Most people know proper nutrition is a vital part of a healthy life. However, although someone may place the most delicious and nutritious meals in front of us, just seeing, holding, or touching food is not enough. Until we eat and internalize it, we gain nothing from it.
Believers must recognize that while attending church is good, failing to spend adequate private/personal QUALITY time getting recharged and re-energized in prayer, Bible study, and waiting in God’s presence, can leave us malnourished believers.
We cannot hope to gain a vast balanced array of spiritual minerals and nutrients needed to develop and maintain our spiritual health in one or two weekly 25-30 minute (Meal) sermons per week.
Although the physical food we eat energizes us to tackle the challenges of each day, it takes spiritual energy to cope with life’s many stressors. That’s why a lack of mental energy leaves us lethargic and laying around defeated within our minds. It can also leave us unproductive and unable to accomplish much despite our bodies having physical nutrition.
John 4:31-32 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus, “Rabbi, eat something.” 32 But Jesus replied, “I have a kind of food you know nothing about.”
Let us strive to avoid slow spiritual starvation due to becoming too comfortable away from God’s presence. Remember, if we allow ourselves to become too weak (Spiritually) Satan will be put in a prime position to stick his fork in us seeing us as an easy feast!
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
May your day find you spiritually satisfied in God’s word.
