THE ULTIMATE INTIMACY?

Apr 5, 2024

Psalm 73:28 (NLT) 28 - But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.

Good morning!

Intimacy is intended to be a part of marriage. Intimacy in marriage should also include being loved, respected, cherished, and feeling safe within the relationship.

God died so we could have an intimate spiritual relationship with Him. Psalm 73:28 touches on the benefits of that spiritual relationship. This type of relationship is only found in Christ.

God desires us to have fellowship, love, and romance with our mates. (See Genesis 2:18). The type of spiritual intimacy God longs for us to have with Him is vastly superior to any level of (Limited) human intimacy we can ever experience.

Because eternal souls are considered more important than mortal bodies, there is a far greater joy to experience in our spiritual union with Christ than an earthly marriage relationship (Or other) can provide.

Below are three verses that speak to the high level of intimacy desired by Him to have with us:

1 Corinthians 6:17 -But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

Hosea 2:19-20- I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. 20 I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord.

I Peter 1:8 – You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with glorious, inexpressible joy.

Let us strive to trust in God and work on deepening (Through the Bible) our spiritual intimacy with Him!

Have a wonderful day in His loving kindness!
