Good morning!
Breathing and thinking are two body functions we rarely monitor unless we have a medical condition that requires it or possibly have been injured. Other than that, many people don’t stop to think about it. We simply do it!
Philippians 4:8 reminds us that monitoring what we think is as crucial as every breath we take. It is by our thoughts our lives are shaped, planned, and then lived out either for better or for worse. It presents us with a specific God-ordained checklist of what we should focus our thought on! That being…
Whatever is true
Whatever is noble
Whatever is just
Whatever is pure
Whatever is lovely
Whatever is of good report
Whatever is of any virtue and is praiseworthy is what we should focus on spending our time thinking about.
If God has given us specific instructions, it is for a good reason. He knows if we don’t continually renew our minds, we won’t be able to fully live the victorious life He promises us or serve Him to the best of our abilities.
Let us strive to keep ungodly thoughts (Anxiety, worry, doubt, fear, unbelief, etc.) from derailing our Christian walk.
James 1:8 – A double-minded man/woman is unstable in all his ways.
