Good morning!
God has granted us free will. Giving us the ability to “Choose sides” when it comes to the ultimate eternal spiritual decision. Do I choose to join God or this world?
While Jesus had a way of drawing large crowds, he often alienated many people. Especially the religious leaders of His day. Many times, the words he spoke allowed people to decide if they were with Him or against Him quickly. It is accurate to say His message remains divisive among some people even today.
Many of His statements were very tough pills to swallow. Even some of His disciples took exception to them.
John 6:60 – Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, this is a hard saying; who can hear it?
Matthew 12:20 – Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
Let us strive to remember this important truth. It is only our job to present Christ to others. Not to argue and fight to make them accept Him. When we learn how to keep the doors of communication open with people, we will maintain the ability to share our testimony. And thus, the Gospel.
Joshua 24:15 – If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Praying we will be empowered to be patient witnesses for Christ on this day!
