WHY IS TROUBLE AS CLOSE AS THE TIP OF OUR TONGUE?

Proverbs 18:21 (NASB) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Good morning!

Life can be hard enough by itself without us going out of our way to find extra trouble. The Bible gives us some of the most simple and effective ways to reduce the amount of trouble in life. The best way is by monitoring and regulating what we let come out of our mouths.

Scripture warns us about how much damage that little pink piece of flesh flapping around in our mouths can do. The tongue has the brain attached to it and has caused many a person to conform (Romans 12:2) to detrimental behaviors. Behaviors that eventually led to the ruin of many an individual, households, towns, cities, and kingdoms.

We have so much to gain from listening to and applying these verses., and a lot to lose by ignoring them.

Below are four golden nuggets of biblical wisdom to hold on to:

1. Proverbs 21:23 “He who guards his mouth and his tongue, Guards his soul from troubles.”

2. Proverbs 10:19 “When there are “Many Words,” transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.”

3. James 1:19 “This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be Quick to Hear, Slow to Speak, and Slow to Anger;”

4. Proverbs 29:20 “Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

Let us strive to remember that the words we let roll off our tongues can and will come back to bite us or bless us!

Let us watch what we say and choose our words wisely!

Proverbs 21:23 – Watch your tongue and keep your mouth shut, and you will stay out of trouble.

Praying we all enjoy a tremendously tactful day regarding our choice of words!
