WHY LOOK OUT FOR THE NEEDS OF OTHERS?

Sep 20, 2023

Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others.

Good morning!

During the multiple decades, I have watched in amazement as God has used others to bless me and my family in various ways. Many times, these blessings arose during some of our darkest hours.

From the pastoral marriage counseling that helped our marriage survive the early years (Now going on 38 + years as of this writing) to help with medical, financial, transportation, and employment challenges, God provided a way through others.

Despite the problems we may face in life, we should never cease reaching out to assist others to the best of our ability. Offering prayer and encouraging words is always helpful if your physical resources are limited! There is no satisfaction like assisting others in their time of need and we must not forget we are God’s primary method/agent of choice to reach others. Philippians 2:3-4 speaks to the importance of needing to be concerned about the problems of others and not just our own.

Philippians 2:3 – Do nothing from rivalry or conceit but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Heavenly Father, help us strive to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting so we can be willing and available vessels to help those around us. Amen!

Have a fearless day in the Lord reaching out to those in need!
