Good morning!
In 1 John 5:6-8, we see the basic, but powerful principle about the agreement of the water, the blood, and the Spirit. The Greek reads “The three are into the one.” The verb (are) is in the present tense signifying the three witnesses can be continually on one accord, in perfect agreement that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.
Vincent’s Commentary says that these three being in agreement signifies that “they converge upon the one truth, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has come in the flesh.” Henry Alford adds that the three witnesses “Concur in the one, contribute to one and the same result, namely, the truth that Jesus is the Christ and that we have life in Him.”
Let us strive to remain focused on this one, significant, powerful, and undeniable truth that Jesus is the Christ and that in Him we have life everlasting!
Blessings!
