Good morning!
Here the apostle Paul admonishes Christians to walk in unity, love, purity, and holiness and study to be better at it. It is helpful to note how often Scripture points to love.
Love is the law of Christ’s kingdom (1 Corinthians 13:2.. without love, we have nothing). If others argue with us, we must take care not to argue back with them. If others will despise and hate us, we must not despise and hate them back.
Is this easy? No. That’s why we must let the love of God operate in us and through us (Colossians 3:16- Let the love of God dwell in you richly)
We often fail to treat people with the same “unconditional” love and respect we expect from them. Paul says we must study Lowliness, meekness, long-suffering, and forbearing with one another in love.
However, doing this requires daily doses of God’s word being imparted to us. The word of God helps us learn to understand humility, oppose pride, and not be easily provoked, or offended. It prevents us from carrying angry resentments or seeking revenge.
When we learn to bear one another in the love of God, we can deal with even the highest form of knuckleheads and still not be moved.
Remember, pride and passion break the peace and make mischief. Humility and meekness restore the peace and keep it.
Let us look to God’s word daily and become the type of Christian Paul speaks of. If we do, we will grow in the Lord (And Him in us) and arrive at a place where God will open new doors for us. Doors that allow us to better share the love of God with those who have not yet heard of or started living the abundant and meaningful life in Christ.
