Good morning!
Many years ago, I listened as Dr. Tony Evans taught a sermon about how important it is for Christians to function daily as a living sacrifice. He stated the main problem of being a living sacrafice is that sacit does everything possible to find a way to crawl off of the altar.
Sacrificing is no easy task. That means if we say we plan on following what Romans 12:1 says we are going to have to commit ourselves daily to paying the price needed to become a living sacrifice. However, the good news is doing so pays off with tremendous spiritual strides in our lives, and on behalf of God’s Kingdom as well.
Bringing our flesh under the control of God is a process and a battle! But, it is one that we can win with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Titus 2:12 – training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
Let us strive daily to yield ourselves as living sacrifices so that we can live a more Christ-like existence.
P.S. There is no doubt that being a living sacrafice is one of those things that is much easier to say than do! After all, if it was easy, it there wouldn’t be a need to consider it a sacrifice!
