Good morning!
Life takes its values from its goals and purposes. But, if we are not careful, we can wander off the beaten path and start pursuing purposes and goals that end up off track.
The Bible says one of the primary things we should try and do is provide for ourselves and our families.
1 Timothy 5:8 – But if someone doesn’t provide for their own family, and especially for a member of their household, they have denied the faith. They are worse than those who have no faith.
There are countless ways to earn a living and be providers for ourselves and family. The trick is to keep the method and means we use from turning into our primary focus. Pushing our spiritual (Heavenly) goals into a secondary position or even distracting us enough to abandon them.
Like anything in life, there is always a balance that needs to be maintained. But it is up to us to seek Him so that He can assist us in maintaining that balance.
Ephesians 5:15 – 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise.
Note: Earthly goals without balance have an established reputation of leading people down a path where only emptiness is there to greet them upon arrival. If not careful, it can become a form of bondage when the person doesn’t realize they must forever keep chasing newer goals to help make life fulfilling.
I am not saying people should not pursue life’s opportunities! Just to stay diligent and not let life’s opportunities take the focus away from our primary (Heavenly) goal of advancing the Kingdom of God in the earth.
Let us strive daily to discover and pursue our assignment for the kingdom of God with assistance from the Holy Spirit.
Have a blessed and purposeful day!
