Good morning!
Here in Luke 14, we are told the story of the great feast invite offered to Israel by God. However, they decided to reject it. Israel (God’s chosen people) paid a high price for rejecting this opportunity.
Like most people in todays society, they had a whole list of excuses (See the above verses 18-20) as to why they could not take time to attend.
After Israel refused His offer, God opened His invitation to the gentiles. He let them know there was room for them to attend His banquet.
As Believers, we also have been offered a legitimate invite to come and eat at God’s banquet table. We must be careful to not do as Israel did and let the cares of this world (Life’s responsibilities and hardships) derail or even disqualify us from an eternal after-life. And especially from being able to attend the grandest feast of all!
Isaiah 25:6 – Now the Lord of armies will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine.
Let us fight the good fight of faith and refuse to succumb to the problems posed by this short life.
Instead, let us set aside every distraction and disappointment and grab hold to every chance we get to encourage others to take God up on His invite.
Remember, we never know when we may be the person God has placed in someone else’s path to help them guide them to His banquet table..
Have a blessed in the Lord!
