Good morning!

Every day, people mistakenly buy counterfeit (Scam/knock-off) items. In 2012, the sale of counterfeit goods exceeded 2% ($1.7 trillion) of the world’s economy. That is quite a number!

Counterfeit items can range from handbags to shoes, medicines, and even baby formula. Counterfeiting impacts many areas of life.

Sadly, the worst type of counterfeiting is not the buying of material goods. It is buying into a counterfeit spiritual existence. It is an existence that looks similar to what God can provide. But at its core, the focus is more on what can be gained here on earth than in heaven.

2 Corinthians 4:18 – 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. The things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

Not getting duped requires following Bible basics and being led by the Holy Spirit. That helps us determine a true path of life from a fake life path.

If Satan was bold enough to present Jesus with a counterfeit offer, should we not expect similar treatment?

Matthew 4:9 – and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You fall down and worship me.”

Remember, Satan excels at offering us what we want over what we need and by emphasizing (Temporary) satisfaction over sanctification.

Let us strive to walk in the wisdom and discernment we find in God and avoid the deceptive tactic deployed to try and trick us into living a counterfeit existence.

James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Have a genuine day in His authentic wonder-working power!
