Good morning!
King Saul lost his kingship in a crucial decision-making moment when he chose self-interest over obedience to God. He made the mistake of letting his personal desires, self pursuits, and judgment rule over himself instead of God.
While it can be easy to look at Saul’s poor decisions and think he should have known better, in reality, we as Believers can and so make some pretty poor decisions ourselves.
As believers, we are not immune to the consequences of our poor choices and decisions. Saul’s poor decision cost him dearly and that same principle applies to us. It is one of the primary reasons we have to be ready for when those critical decision-making moments in life arrive. Key moments where a wrong decision can steer the course of our lives far away from the destination God intended and likely away from where we intended as well.
Fortunately, the Bible teaches us how God desires to communicate with us. so we can have assistance to fight back against the urges and desires that so often derail our attempts to better obey God.
Galatians 5:24 – Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Let us strive to better submit ourselves to the dictates of God so we can develop a better life decision-making skill set.
May God help direct us in all our decisions today!
