Good morning!
This verse describes a key characteristic Jesus exhibited as He faced punishment on our behalf. Endurance! This verse is a prophecy that describes what Christ will go through in detail. It’s spoken of 600 years before Jesus was born.
An ability to suffer shame, persecution, pain, and even death for the cause of Christ comes from a transformed life. (Romans 12:2).
Dying to ourselves is the only way to develop into an obedient servant/disciple of Jesus. As a man, even Jesus had to trust, rely, and call upon the Father for direction and strength to endure what lay before Him.
In Matthew 26:36 -44, Jesus prayed three separate times regarding His destined path….
Endurance is something that rarely develops in people overnight. If you ask a known expert in their given field who is proficient at the highest levels (In sports, academics, etc.) you will find that they didn’t start that way. Many of them had periods where they struggled with doubt, fears, tears, and thought at times about quitting before reaching their goal. At some point in their long journey process, they decided to stick with their goal regardless of obstacles.
Thankfully, Jesus left us a pattern to model ourselves after in order to become solid, steady, and ready spiritually.
Remember, in Him, we can endure whatever comes our way Philippians 4:13 and 1 Corinthians 3:11.
Have a blessed and solid day in the Lord!
