Good morning!

Society and some of the modern church sometimes seem to emphasize there is no room for weakness in the life of a Believer. However, these verses make it clear weakness does indeed have its place and purpose within our lives.

Anyone, even a person considered as pastor, priest, or prayer warrior can eventually cave into pain, pressure, and the sorrows of life when faced with the right combination of tragic circumstances.

Jesus praying in the garden of Gethsemane is a prime example. Despite His power, prayer life, and power packed ministry, Jesus can be seen in Matthew 26:42 agonizing over the experience of his coming death.

He reaches a point where he is praying that the cup (He will soon be crushed, pierced, and bruised for our transgressions – Isaiah 53:3-12) might be passed from Him.

Jesus did not give in to the temptation to abandon his mission but pressed on by trusting in His heavenly Father. He knew what would be gained on behalf of mankinds place in eternity. This lead him to say, “Not My will but Thine be done.”

Regardless of how hard it may be (And there will come), let us strive to press in and trust God. Especially during those times when we feel overwhelmed by face fear, doubt, and uncertainty.

Remembering that His resurrection power operates at its best within us during our weakest times. Times where our weakness in a situation has made us humble enough to realize we need to reduce our efforts so that His can increase though us!

Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses…
