Feeling Laundered By Life?

Nov 2, 2026

Acts 14:22 (NIV) strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.

Good morning!

For a price, laundry service providers offer to clean our dirty, smelly, sweaty laundry so we won’t have to. Besides washing, drying, ironing, folding, and dry-cleaning, they also can sew our broken buttons back on. Doing so while often working in a hot, humid, and sticky environment.

Acts 14:22 tells us how life’s fiery trials bring hot and uncomfortable circumstances bring and pressures to bear on us. These difficulties in life can somewhat resemble the laundry process. A process where we feel like we’ve been cycled through a washer tumbled through a dryer and then placed on a pressing (ironing) machine. Getting scorched, seared, peeled off, and hung on a hanger. We can never underestimate the cards life can deal us.

2 Timothy 3:12 – all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecutions”

Yes, life can be cold, callous, and cruel. And surprisingly so on only short notice. That’s why we must remain in a close enough position for the Holy Spirit to help us navigate life’s troubles as they arise (John 15:4).

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

The next time life has you feeling all washed up, remember that as long as you remain in Christ, there is always hope!

May your day be washed and cleaned by the power of the risen Lord. Empowering you to iron out every wicked wrinkle(s) life may bring your way!
