Good morning!
As the object of God’s love, He desires we have His perspective so we can reflect His love to others here on earth.
Presbyterian leader and author Robert Baillie summed it up this way, “A true Christian is someone who never for a moment forgets what God has done for him in Christ.”
When we are in love with Christ, we consider each day we are granted to live (Good or bad) to be another day to give Him thanks and gratitude for allowing us to be here to see it.
This morning countless people began their day dealing with traumatic feelings linked to events (Recent or non-recent) that have effectively changed their lives forever.
Consequently, for some time and into the unforeseeable future, the type of love and compassion spoken of in verse 12 is what they need. This love should come from us since we Believers are called to pattern our behaviors after the love of Christ.
We must remember that despite our misfortunes, there will always be people around us who are far less fortunate than we are. Those with limited to no family, friends, or other support systems. They are in great need of our prayers, fellowship, and love.
Let us strive to learn to develop and maintain a Christ-like mindset as mentioned below in 1 Corinthians 2:16.
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”
Doing so will help us effectively pass along to others the Godly compassion and love they need while walking out their process of healing.
Have a blessed, compassionate, thoughtful day in Christ!
