Good morning!
Finding and keeping peace in today’s world is not always easy. In these verses, Jesus warns His disciples their faith would be tested in His absence. They were put in a position where they had to trust in what Jesus said as he would soon no longer be by their side.
A short while later, Jesus was arrested, with His apostles abandoning Him out of fear. Despite being abandoned, Jesus still modeled a dependence on His heavenly Father’s presence. A presence that brought comfort to him at what was the most challenging time of His earthly life (The cross).
As Believers, we too must learn to rely on God in our most challenging times (Psalm 146:3). Even when we feel alone and abandoned. For it is in our most difficult times that we are in the best position to discover (Or rediscover) God’s love, peace, and assurance. However, obtaining that level of peace requires stepping out and trusting God at His Word.
Let us strive to discipline ourselves to become so familiar with His presence that we always live like He’s never far away from us.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Have a positive and peaceful day, walking in the loving assurance found in His words!
