Good morning!
It’s common for businesses, non-profits, and even people to have a mission statement. A mission statement explains the organization’s purpose by outlining what they do and why they do it.
While most statements remain the same, over time they can be updated as their organization evolves.
After we accept Christ as Savior, how we perceive and conduct life should change. We now should have a new reason as to what we do and why we do it.
Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Falling in line with God’s purpose for our life requires our growing up spiritually. But, this type of growth only comes by allowing him to substitute his plan for ours.
Romans 6:22 – But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness.
If you sometimes feel your relationship with Christ is lacking due to you dragging things from your old mission statement into your new life in Christ. Pray for His assistance and help as you discipline yourself to walk in the newness of life as stated in Romans 6:4. You can then proceed with the process of updating your mission in Christ not only in your heart and mind but also in the physical statement you make as you walk out that mission.
Romans 6:4 – We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in the newness of life.
Have a blessed and mission-minded day walking with the Lord!
