Good Morning!
Feelings are neither good nor bad in themselves. They have a value and purpose as they are interconnected to our thinking. But they are powerful, and if not kept under control, they will rule and ruin us.
There is a good reason God never intended for us to be guided by our emotions.
Proverbs 28:26 – He who trusts in his own heart is a fool. Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and is exceedingly corrupt.
When we respond and react out of our emotions and feelings, we do so based on what we think. If we think wrong, we can’t help but respond wrong.
Proverbs 14:12 – There is a way that seems right to man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
We have to learn to think like God says to think.
Philippians 2:5 – Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus!
Godly thinking leads us to make life choices and decisions that flow into God-directed outcomes. This is only achieved by keeping our emotions in check. Like everything else in life, this process takes time, patience, and practice.
We must study to learn the truth and then practice being obedient in walking in that truth. In time, our feelings/emotions and flesh will become accustomed to being controlled and ruled by our spirit instead of the other way around.
If you are tired of riding the emotional roller coaster of life, study God’s prescribed method to fix that problem.
2 Corinthians 10:5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ
Remember, the way to get the life-changing results the Bible speaks about is through one renewed thought at a time!
Have a well-thought-through day in His ways and by His word!
