Good morning!
The Apostle Paul often dealt with hardships during his travels while preaching the gospel. He was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked, imprisoned, and survived several attempts on his life. But, despite every hardship he suffered, he only viewed them as “light afflictions”?
Paul had transformed his thinking (Romans 12:1-2) to an eternal perspective viewing his circumstances in light of how they matched up with eternity. He gives us an excellent example of how we must reposition our minds/thoughts to look beyond our current challenges. We must learn to see that holding fast to an eternity with Christ will far surpass every temporary trouble we face in this world.
Timothy 2:12 – If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him, If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
Remember, we are not asked to be some Christian Super Believer. We are simply told to focus our attention and faith on trusting in Christ as Paul did.
As I often like to say, Jesus never said it would be easy, but He did let us know that with God, “All things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).
2 Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Have a faith-filled day in the power of His might!
