Good morning!
I recall one of the times I accidentally knocked a drinking glass off the counter. It felt like slow motion as I watched it head for and hit the floor. Disappearing into countless splintered small pieces. Despite my slow and careful cleanup, I discovered (With my bare foot) weeks later parts of that glass in faraway areas of my kitchen I would never have suspected.
When our lives go to pieces, it can mimic that shattered glass. We can later find pieces in places we thought we never expected.
This verse should remind us how thoughtful and thorough God is when we allow Him to assist us in picking up the pieces of our lives. He excels at picking up our shattered lives, hopes, and dreams.
Note: The word “perfect” as used in this verse means to render fit, complete. “Perfect” comes from two words: fit and down. It carries the meanings of mend, repair, complete, equip, prepare, and put in order. The idea here is that God will restore us to our former condition.
The predominant idea in the word “perfect” is adjustment. God will put the broken parts into the right relationship. He will put us into the right relationship with Himself. God desires to mend those who come to Him as the God of grace.
Remember, God will always do a better job of locating and restoring the pieces of our life. And often far beyond what we could have done.
Let us strive to seek His assistance with a humble heart to make us whole. That way, we can move toward fulfilling His plans for us.
2 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
