Good morning!
Sometime around the mid-1960s, my older brother and I decided designing bicycle seat belts would be a great idea. We were young with limited insight, so our idea seemed brilliant to us. But, in reality, the idea had way too many holes in it.
On our first and last test run (Actually more of a test crash), we found ourselves lying in a tangled heap and unable to free ourselves from the bike. Fortunately for us, a friendly older lady walking by released us from the carnage without even asking why we were tied to a bicycle.
As adults (But still God’s Children) we as Believers can make childish, foolish decisions by pursuing ideas (Thoughts) that seemed like a great idea at the time. But, in reality, completely lack any input from God.
Being our own advisor and following our own ideas can lead us to function apart from God. That route often turns into many “It seemed like a good idea at the time” moments. Monumental moments we may need years to physically, mentally, or spiritually extract ourselves from.
Let us strive to put on the mind of Christ and sift our ideas through God. Because a “God” centered idea will always be superior to any man-centered or woman-centered “good” idea!
Philippians 2:5 – Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Have a wonderful day walking in the wisdom of God!
