Good morning!
David asks the Lord for wisdom and grace to consider how short life is and to better understand it. If we don’t understand there’s an end, we will act and live like we will be on earth forever. Reducing our thoughts on death down to something like the following:
Sometime in the future
One day
Eventually
Only God knows
Sometime after retirement
Not me, only other people die
I’m not saying we are to dwell on thoughts of death, I’m only giving the biblical reminder that eternity comes to us all and we need to think about how our current life will impact our eternal life. While we can.
Deuteronomy 32:29 – Oh, that they were wise and could understand this! Oh, that they might know their fate!
The more we learn why Christ died, the better we will understand why we are here and the better our opportunity is to spend eternity in the correct location.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 -But as for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave.
Let us strive to study God’s word to the point where we can remove the fear of the inevitable through His insight and wisdom. Enabling us to rise above the distractions of this world and not lose sight of our coming time in eternity.
Have an insightful day, by the power of His Word!
