SPIRITUALLY BALANCED AND ALIGNED?

Sep 15, 2026

Jeremiah 17:9 (Amplified) The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse {and} corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind?

Good morning!

Here in Louisiana, our roads are notorious for being in bad shape. Bad roads damage vehicle front-end alignments, which in turn damage tires, rims, and other parts that can lead to premature wear and tear or even severe accidents. Consequently, ongoing wheel balancing and alignment issues are commonly necessary. I have noticed that every time I’ve delayed or ignored correcting a balance or alignment issue in its early stages, it ends up costing me much more later down the road.

This verse points to an issue many Christians ignore. That is to keep our hearts submitted to seeking after God. (A daily exercise – Isaiah 58:2). When we keep our hearts aligned with God we have a lesser chance of falling prey to the things in this world that can spiritually unbalance, misalign, and wreck us (Romans 12:2-3).

Similar to ignoring vehicle balance and alignment issues, neglecting to address our lack of spiritual self-discipline greatly influences how well will do spiritually. It is no mystery that an undisciplined person makes their life more difficult than it should be. When you find a very undisciplined Christian, you often also find a defeated Christian.

2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.

Let us strive to heed this warning to diligently work on developing a self-disciplined, aligned, and balanced spiritual (Christian) life. Allowing God to lead, guide, and direct us in a spiritually safe manner to our destination.

Have a blessed, balanced, and well-aligned day!
