Good morning!

Hebrews 13:7-8  tells us that we should remember the examples, instructions, prayers private counsel of those Godly men or women who positively impacted our lives as they preached Jesus to us.

We are urged to imitate their faith, while never failing to remember the following points. Godly men and women ministers/preachers/teachers will come and go (Hebrews 1:11 They will perish, but you remain…) but the Jesus whom they preached and spoke about is the same

His grace and sacrificial death on the cross (Hebrews 13:10, 11, 12) are the foundation and centerpiece of sound doctrine. We are also warned not to ever become so transfixed or enamored with the messenger that we forget that they are not the source of the message, but only just the bearer of it.

We are also encouraged to always soak up all we can learn from excellent teachers of God’s word but to never let our eyes stray from Christ.

Hebrews 12:2 – fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let us strive to remember that while men/women are always subject to failures in life, Jesus remains the unchanging person in whom our faith can and must remain.

May the power of the Holy Spirit and the many excellent examples found in the pages of the Bible sustain us through our journey on this day!
