Good morning!
In Isaiah 32:17, we see the impact righteousness has when it is brought front and center. It has the power to displace the sinful behaviors that dwell in the hearts of men/women.
Righteousness does not impact only individuals. It can flow from an individual to families, then on to towns, cities, and even nations. Bringing the Godly peace that comes with it.
J. H. Jowett, M. A. notes that “Peace is not a root, but a fruit. It is not the beginning of a process, but its end. History has shown from the countless attempts that no one cannot command peace; we can only grow it. However, to obtain peace we must first plant righteousness.”
D. Fraser in Penny Pulpit, No. 2436 states how “The old Hebrew prophets believed in national judgments. Fortunately, they also believed that national righteousness could avert nationwide judgment. That is why we should pray for our community and country. And that is why you see high-ranking officials in some towns and cities sometimes declare a time of fasting and prayer amid some type of disaster or calamity.”
Let us strive to never cease fighting the good fight of faith while maintaining a repentant heart toward God. That will keep us in the mindset to always pray that family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, church leaders, and government officials make and keep righteousness as a part of their foundation.
Proverbs 14:34 – Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.
Have a remarkably righteous-minded day!
