Good morning!
I found the below brief summation of Colossians 1:13-14 in Bible Ref.
God has rescued and redeemed believers. “Domain” is from the Greek word exousias, which can also be translated as “power, authority, or strength.”
In this case, Paul is referring to God’s rescue of Christians from the power of sin and death.
In addition, Paul says that God has transformed us from sinners bound by sin, into new creations meant for heaven. The word metestēsen is often translated as “delivered” in English translations, but can also mean “transpose,” or even “translate.”
This once again highlights God’s rescue of the believer from the power of sin and its consequences
Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It should be comforting to know that we as believers are protected from the “Penalty” of sin. And be additionally thankful that the sacrifice made at the cross at Calvary radically removed us from that penalty.
However, we still have the task to live in a way that displays we are removed.
Let us strive on this day as well as during this year to walk in the freedom from sin that God has obtained for us!
