Good morning!
It is common for many institutions of higher learning to offer 101 Introductory classes. These classes serve as the foundation on which the more advanced higher-level courses (201, 301, etc.) are built upon.
It is not an option to skip them and if a person does it leaves them prone to developing a weak and incomplete foundation for the additional and higher knowledge that is yet to come.
In a similar manner, many Christians have never mastered Truth 101 and truly settled in their hearts who Jesus is.
From experience, I know it can become easy to rely on someone else to spoon-feed us about who Jesus is. We can even do so to the point where we become comfortable learning everything we know about Jesus through someone else. Never studying and personally approaching Jesus through the scriptures for ourselves.
NOTE: I Am Not Saying You Should Discount Sound Biblical Teaching!
My point is if we agree Christianity is about a personal relationship with Christ (It is – See 1 John 1:12) then at some point in time, to build that personal relationship will require spending some One-on-One time with Him! Without such effort, we will have basically skipped over and missed grasping Truth 101.
This tends to make for an unstable and incomplete faith foundation. Yes, we can still learn many subject areas of the Bible, but without seeing Christ interwoven throughout the entirety of scripture, our view of Him will be narrow and incomplete. This will adversely impact how and what we believe.
(Luke 6:47-49). The wise one built their house on a strong foundation.
Let us enroll and apply ourselves (2 Timothy 2:15) in the most critical class ever offered, Truth 101. Striving to press in, pray and persevere in spending quality one-on-one time learning, loving, and gleaming from Him.
Have a truth-filled day in His presence!
