Good morning!
The story is told about an older married couple, ripe in marriage years but still very much in love. From their early years of marriage, they often spent leisure time driving around, relaxing, and sightseeing. The wife would lovingly sit close by her husband’s side as he drove.
Despite the couple and their vehicle being well up in years, they would go out regularly for their leisurely drive. One day during an afternoon drive, the wife calmly voiced her displeasure to her husband that she didn’t find their rides as pleasing anymore because they no longer sat by each other. The husband was startled by her comment. He pulled safely over to the side of the road and perplexedly looked over at her and resplied, but honey, I never moved.
A point to be gleaned from Jeremiah 23:23 -24 is that while we may find ourselves sometimes displeased with life’s circumstances, we should never let discouraging times lead us to believe God has moved away from us. The truth is if anyone has moved, it is us, not God.
Psalm 73:28 – But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works.
Let us strive to always remember that God loves and cares for us more than we care for ourselves. So, if at any time we feel God’s presence has become distant, it is time for us to check our spiritual location.
Zephaniah 3:17 – For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Have a powerful day walking in His presence!
