Good morning!
In the mid-1800s, a performer named Chevalier Blondin became famous for crossing the Niagara Falls gorge 17 times on a tightrope! Even more impressively, he made trips while blindfolded and pushing a wheelbarrow. He even pushed it across with his young daughter in it. Later he made the trip carrying a stove, stopping halfway to cook an omelet on it. He also crossed it on stilts and with his manager on his back.
The Prince of Wales was familiar with Blondin’s feats, having seen him complete the walks. The prince openly stated he trusted Blondin’s skills. But, when Blondin asked the prince if he trusted him enough to let him carry him on his back on the return walk, the prince not surprisingly said no!
While we may say God can deliver us from all our issues, sometimes we may find ourselves responding “No” to His offers to trust Him. We can declare our confidence in His abilities all day long, but when it comes down to the time to act, we must do as David did and apply faith to the truth of God’s Word so we may press on.
The more we study and meditate on God’s history of successful rescues, the more likely we will be to trust Him (Like David did) during the critical times in our life.
Proverbs 3:5 -6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Have a wondrous trust-filled day!
